Duluth City Council Approves Funds for Contractor for Trail Debris Cleanup
The city itself will handle curbside debris pickup, but will hire a contractor for debris pickup on some trails.
The city of Duluth decided that they will take care of all of the debris cleanup from the curbsides of residents.
Residents will have until August 27th to place any tree debris at their curbs.
Residents will continue to have access to the Rice Lake Road drop-off site until September 3rd.
“We thought that through that order of magnitude it rose to a level where it made sense for the city to step in and bring in some of its unique capabilities to quickly clear this debris from the area,” said Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery.
Meanwhile the council did approve a contract of $85,519 to A Plus Landscaping for the removal of debris in Hartley Park and other recreational trails.
