City of Duluth Asks Drivers To Follow Snow Removal Rules
DULUTH, Minn. — After a few snow events so far this winter, Duluth city crews are reminding residents to help with snow removal.
People are encouraged to move their cars during the city’s designated time on Sundays between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
People are also encouraged to give room to plows, as they often have to back up or turn around.
City maintenance also asks for patience, as priority routes are the first plowed during snowfall.
“The biggest thing I can tell people that will benefit them and the city is if you move your vehicles on Sunday from 4 to 8,” Geoff Vukelich, Street Maintenance Operations Coordinator for the City of Duluth said. “That is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., is the legal movement time. A lot of people try to do their due diligence and move early, unfortunately that actually hurts our operations. We’ve chosen that 4 to 8 time frame because that works best for our operations.”
People are encouraged to go through the city’s Resident Problem Reporter if they believe their road has been missed or if they have any questions.
