UMD Men’s & Women’s Basketball See Conference Title Hopes End in Opening Round of NSIC Tourney

The UMD men still have a chance to make the national tournament as an at-large bid.

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD men’s basketball team hosted their first play-in NSIC tournament game since the 2022-2023 season on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were unable to contain the Vikings of Augustana as their title hopes ended with a 74 to 63 loss.

Joshua Brown led UMD with 18 points.

The UMD men still have a chance to make the national tournament as an at-large bid.

The UMD women’s squad also had a play-in contest on Wednesday night as they visited UMary.

Like the men though, the Bulldog women also were eliminated as they fell by a final of 64 to 43.

Johanna Miller had 22 points in the contest.

UMD went 10-18.
