“T Building” Welcomes in New Integrated Manufacturing Space at Lake Superior College

DULUTH, Minn.– Lake Superior College’s downtown location for welding, mechanics, and robotics students is now part of its main campus in Duluth.

The space with the “Trades and Technology” portions of the campus has been remodeled for the additional students.

The area will house classrooms for everything related to Fire and EMT, Carpentry and Welding alongside other trade opportunities.

In addition, the campus was able to update equipment and workspaces.

With the new remodel, it also brings some relief to some of the instructors.

“It’s great. I really enjoyed teaching and it’s awesome to see them excited about you know, having a place for their tools and things like that. And seeing our equipment, we talked about a couple of repairs. As an instructor we can’t really, it’s hard or difficult to repair equipment while teaching,” said Nathan Zobel, a Machine Tool Technology Instructor at Lake Superior College.

With the new ‘T Building’ it will also be easier for trade students to be involved in student life activities, rather than being separated in the former downtown building.
