UW-Superior’s Kogawa & McKenna Earn WIAC Accolades

UWS had seven players also named to the conference teams.

SUPERIOR, Wis.- The WIAC hockey postseason awards were announced on Tuesday.

UW-Superior’s Ikki Kogawa is the WIAC Newcomer of the Year after posting seven goals and 12 assists in his debut season.

His head coach, Rich McKenna also earned a conference honor as he was named WIAC Coach of the Year.

McKenna led the Yellowjackets to a 19-5-3 record, which included the WIAC regular season title.
