Saint Fennessy 4K to Kick Off Racing Season
DULUTH, Minn. — With temperatures on the rise, people are lacing up their running shoes for the start of the race season.
Saturday morning the Saint Fennessy 4K is returning to Hermantown.
The race is the first of the year for the Young Athletes Foundation and welcomes in experienced and beginner runners.
The 4K is one of many races leading up to Grandma’s Marathon.
The race is also a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, as most runners dawn green and gold costumes, and it’s all for a good cause.
“The Young Athletes Foundation and these events are fundraisers and that money that we raise, all the net proceeds go back to the foundation, and then we are able to distribute directly into the community through grants, through scholarships, through running shoes for high school and collegiate athletes, and so, just by showing up at a race like this, you’re helping kids in our community,” Zach Schneider, Grandma’s Marathon Marketing and PR Director said.
There is still time to register in-person before the race at Skyline Social & Games. Skyline will also be hosting a post-race party.
