State Boys Basketball: Cherry Begins Title Defense with Quarterfinal Victory Over BOLD

Cherry will next face Nevis in the semifinals on Friday.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Cherry boys basketball team is one step closer to repeating as Class A state champions.

On Thursday, the Tigers opened up state tournament play with a 89 to 57 victory over BOLD.

Noah Sundquist had a team-leading 28 points in the contest.

Cherry will next face Nevis in the semifinals on Friday. Tip-off is at noon at Williams Arena.
