Mount Royal Library Celebrates Expansion, Reopening
New Room Will Be Used For Gatherings, Events, and Programs
The Mount Royal Library in Duluth is open again – following a major expansion and remodeling project.
At a press conference earlier this morning, the Library Manager Carla Powers and Duluth Mayor Emily Larson led celebrate the new expansion.
The new room will used for gatherings and events, as well as a space for people to get together and play games.
Powers says it’s a good example of how libraries have evolved in recent years.
“They’re more of a gathering place than they used to be,” she said. “So having this space will really allow us to fill the community need that way.”
The expansion cost nearly $200,000, and was made possible through a mix of private donations and public funds.
