Fire Damages Duluth Duplex

An early morning fire caused around $47,000 in damages to a duplex in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. 

The Duluth Fire Department responded to the fire at 2625 West 5th Street just before 7:30 Monday morning. 

When crews arrived, they learned there may still be a person inside of the building.  A search found no occupants inside of the home.   Fire crews located the occupant of the duplex later in the day at another location. 

Around 30 firefighters responded to the call and remained on scene for over an hour. 

No one was injured. 

Damages are estimated at $47,000 and the home has been deemed uninhabitable. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. 

Meanwhile, the red Cross has stepped in to help those displaced by this fire. 

Th Red Cross provides financial assistance and resources to ensure victims have a safe place to stay, clothing, and food and health services.
