Duluth Police Special Investigation Unit Arrest
SIU arrests an individual who then attempts to flee
The Duluth Police Department reported on their Facebook page early Monday afternoon that the Duluth Police Special Investigation Unit received information on a wanted individual.
The information stated that a wanted individual was staying at a residence in the 2800 West block of 2nd Street. Investigators and patrol officers secured the residents. They spoke with the renter and advised her to have the wanted individual come out of the residence.
Officers who were positioned at the back of the residence, see the wanted individual jump out of the 2nd story window onto the back deck. He then attempted to jump from the deck, but the railing broke, and he fell onto the ground where he tried to run just as an officer tackled the male to the ground.
The 26-year-old male was taken to jail for 2 counts of fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, 4th degree criminal damaged to property, driving without a valid license, obstructing legal process, and failing to stop for an accident.
