Street Vendor Sells Fresh Produce in the Summer Sun
One of Many Vendors Taking Advantage of the Warmth
Roadside produce vendors satisfy a big demand from those wanting farm fresh fruits and veggies, but might not want to go all the way to the supermarket.
We caught up with Joe Milton at his operation on London Road in Duluth.
He’s out there nearly every day selling sweet corn, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and more – all from a farm near Rochester.
Street vendors like Joe will tell you the key to success, like any business – location, location, location.
“You pretty much just find the busiest street, or the busiest intersections, and try to get as close as you can to those,” Milton said.
Milton says he works eight or nine hour shifts each day he’s out there, and that weekends are his busiest days.
“I actually like the sun and I like meeting new people,” he says. “Everybody’s nice and stuff. It’s a pretty cool job.”
