Hundreds Enjoy Easter Brunch At Barker’s Island
Over 1,500 Were Expected To Celebrate
Families, friends and neighbors celebrated Easter over brunch at Barker’s Island in Superior on Sunday.
More than 1,500 people turned out for the annual event.
“We heard it was a great buffet, and I have my children here with me, and it was a central area and good food,” said Lynn Hall, a customer.
People enjoyed all the food and company that comes with the Christian holiday, without the mess.
“Not a lot of people want to cook on Easter,” explained Hall, “It’s a great way to get the families together.”
Menu items included holiday favorites like potatoes, gravy, and ham, and of course, a long dessert bar.
“The carrots were amazing,” said Jake Innis, a customer, “Everything under the sun you could ask for for Easter.”
The buffet at Barker’s Island is a popular place for Northlanders to enjoy Easter brunch.
“You know it’s really neat here is the tradition,” said Matt Barningham, the food and beverage director at Barker’s Island. “You meet a lot of people that have been coming here for 10, 20, 25 years.”
“We’ve cooked probably 12, 20 pound roast beefs, we’ve done 30, 15 pound hams so far,” said Barningham.
Barker’s Island has two other holiday buffets throughout the year. The next one will be on Mother’s Day.
