‘Duluth Failed Poets Society’ Club Launches First Anthology Book

Poetry

DULUTH, Minn.– A local writing club with the name ‘Duluth Failed Poets Society’, is currently celebrating quite the success.

Since December, the group of around 70 writers collaborated on the book ‘Murder your Darlings’.

It features a set of 33 works ranging from short stories, poetry, as well as art and illustrations.

The Duluth Failed Poets Society meets every Monday night at the Loch Cafe, where anyone is welcome to collaborate.

And now, they’re celebrating the release of ‘Murder Your Darlings’.

From the sounds of it, the camaraderie in the group is really what led to this publishing opportunity.

“The idea that it’s a creative workshop space for creative writers. We’ve kind of expanded to musicians and artists as well, visual artists. A space for them to improve their craft, a safe and productive craft to get better and whatever you’re trying to do. I think the ethos of the group is we want to help you express your voice to the best of your ability,” said Alex Buelt, the ringmaster for ‘Duluth Failed Poets Society’.

The ‘Failed Poets Society’ is having several release parties to celebrate this accomplishment.

The next one will take place during the Writer’s Salon at Wussow’s Cafe on April 17th.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase at Wussow’s, and Studio Cafe in Duluth as well.
