Four-Run 5th in Game One Helps CSS Baseball Split with Saint Mary’s

Payton Jeffries went six innings and struck out five to earn the win on the mound.

DULUTH, Minn.- The St. Scholastica baseball team hosted Saint Mary’s in a MIAC conference doubleheader on Tuesday.

After trailing 1-0 through the first four innings of game one, the Saints put up a four spot in the bottom of the 5th and never looked back, winning the first contest 4-1.

Payton Jeffries went six innings and struck out five to earn the win on the mound.

Following game one, the Cardinals bounced back in game two with a 9-3 victory.

CSS (11-14) will once again be at home on Wednesday to face Northland College in a doubleheader. First pitch of game one is at 5 PM.
