Volunteers Come Together to Clean Up Lincoln Park

DULUTH, Minn. — Volunteers came together in Lincoln Park to clean up for Earth Week.

Local organization Ecolibrium3 wrapped up it’s 5th annual Earth Week on Saturday.  The week consists of a series of events dedicated to bettering the environment.

On Saturday Eco3 hosted a community clean up in Lincoln Park. Volunteers were provided gloves, garbage bags and grabbers.

Last year the clean-up saw nearly 200 volunteers and collected over 4,000lbs of trash.

“We’re hoping people can get outside, clean up their neighborhood and feel really good about it. I was just talking to some folks about that community benefit rolling on, so you see people outside cleaning up and that makes other people want to get out and clean up their neighborhood as well,” Annika Frazer, Ecolibrium3 Community Engagement & Strategic Specialist Coordinator

Other local organizations also volunteered their time to clean up the neighborhood.

“Twin Ports Trailer Trash donated their time, so they’re helping to pick up the larger items that volunteers can’t carry and then Resource Renew or WLSSD is doing sharps education so people can either pick those up if they feel or we have a way that staff members can go out and clean those sharps up if they don’t feel comfortable,” Frazer said.

Ecolibrium3 is an organization with a mission to lead and inspire towards a sustainable future.
