UMD Softball’s NSIC Tournament Run Ends in Semifinal Round Against #8 Augustana

UMD will need an at-large bid to make the NCAA tournament. 

SIOUX FALLS, SD.- The UMD softball team took on top-seeded Augustana in the semifinal round of the NSIC conference tournament on Friday.

The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie in the top of the third with a solo home run by Ava Johnson and an RBI double from Nicole Schmitt to take a 2-0 lead.

However, the Vikings scored eight unanswered runs after that to defeat the Bulldogs 8 to 2 and end their postseason push.

The Bulldogs will need an at-large bid to make the NCAA tournament.

The NCAA selection show is on Monday, May 5th.
