Possible Explosive Device, Drugs, and Firearms Discovered After Disturbance

ASHLAND, Wis. – Ashland Police say the were called to a home on Prentice Avenue on the evening of May 8, 2025.

When they arrived they were told there was one person in the basement that may be armed.

Police were able to take the person into custody.

After a search, police say they discovered what they thought was potentially an explosive device.

The Marathon County Bomb Squad was called in to safely remove the device.

It was not immediacy released if the device was explosive or not.

Police say they also fond multiple firearms, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home.

The person detained was arrested and is facing gun and drug charges,
