Camp House Fire Nears 12,000 Acres With No Containment
BRIMSON, MN – The Camp House Fire, burning north of Brimson since Sunday, May 11, has grown to 11,778 acres with 0% containment. The fire remains active and unpredictable, fueled by dry conditions and spruce budworm-infested forests.

Fire Status: Crews continue aggressive suppression efforts, protecting nearby structures. Yesterday’s fire activity included torching and spot fires. Infrared mapping confirms high nighttime activity.

Evacuations & Closures: Several roadways are closed, including Highway 16 and County Roads 44 and 355. Visit the St. Louis County Emergency Management website for evacuation maps and updates.

Resources: 80 personnel are on scene, supported by 32 engines, 6 dozers, air support, and night operations.

Weather Warning: A Red Flag Warning is in effect Tuesday (11 a.m. – 9 p.m.) for much of Minnesota. Expect elevated fire danger with gusty winds and dry conditions.
