City of Superior Honors Loved Ones with Trees and Benches at Annual Ceremony
SUPERIOR, Wisc. — The City of Superior held its annual tribute tree and bench ceremonies.
Mayor Jim Paine and members of the Urban Forestry Tree Board visited the locations around town and personally thanked the Tribute Tree Donors and Memorial Bench Sponsors.
One memorial tree was in memory of Ed Minter, a city employee for over 30 years, and there was a large gathering at the ceremony.
“We spend a lot of time and have, my oldest grandson has played ball here for several years, and the kids and the families that have all become part of our family, and everybody will have the opportunity to watch it grow with us.” Annette Minter, Ed Minter’s Wife, who had a tree placed in Ed’s memory.
Over 900 trees have been planted in the 25 years of the Tribute Tree Program. Ten benches have also been placed in the three years of the Memorial Bench Program.
