Tuesday Evening Northland Forecast: 6/3/2025
Starting to Clear
While the Air Quality Alert for the entire state of Minnesota is still in effect til noon on Wednesday, we are starting to see some light at the end of the smoky tunnel. It is cloudy and rainy and smoky across much of Wisconsin today. The best part of that is the rain, of course. The rain has pretty much left Minnesota, and Wisconsin is getting more rain today, than Minnesota got yesterday. After this dose of rain, we look pretty dry til the weekend. There are chances for rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The most promising day for rain is on Sunday. I know that’s not the best timing, to get rain on the weekend. But we’ll take it whenever we can get it.
Where it’s rainy, cloudy and smoky today, temperatures are in the 50s. In northwest Minnesota, things are starting to clear out, and the sun is coming out today. Temps there are in the 70s today. We will have that kind of weather in the Twin Ports tomorrow. In Duluth and Superior, the skies will stay cloudy with smoke this evening. But, overnight things will start to clear out, and Wednesday should become mostly sunny by midday, when the Air Quality Alert is lifted. After that, high pressure will be in charge for a few days, and we will have mostly sunny skies until the weekend, with high temps in the low to mid 70s. Friday will bring a chance for rain, and a high of 66. Saturday and Sunday both bring chances for rain, with highs in the low 70s. Sunshine will return for next week, with highs in the low to mid 70s.
The wildfire situation in Canada will go on for weeks, if not months. So, I’m sure this is not the last round of Air Quality Alerts we will have this summer. But getting a few days of clear, smoke-free skies will be a welcome change. Do not take it for granted.
