Toy Drive Targets Older Children in Need

Gifts for Teens Benefits the Boys and Girls Club

DULUTH, Minn. – Special delivery, and just in time for Christmas!

Natalie Froistad and William Seay from Fox 21 Local News at Seven paid a visit to the Boys and Girls Club of the Northland earlier today, with gift boxes full of presents for area teenagers.

“Gifts for Teens” is a toy drive that targets under-privileged teenagers, a group that is typically a little harder to shop for.

“The little ones are easy to shop for,” says Todd Johnson, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland.

There are five Boys and Girls Club locations in the Northland; this drive will serve all five.

“A lot of the kids that we serve don’t have a merry Christmas,” Johnson said.  “Community members such as Fox and others – with their support we try to make the holidays a little bit merrier for the kids that we serve.”

The toys will be distributed to the different club locations on Tuesday, and will be given to the children on Thursday during Holiday parties at each club.
