Major Road Construction in Hyot Lakes

HOYT LAKES, Minn. — If you are driving up north toward Hoyt Lakes, chances are you’ll see the main street torn up for construction.

The construction began in May, and is expected to wrap up in October. The street is getting Mill and Overlay, Storm Sewers, Curb and Gutters, and Sidewalks.

The project itself is described as a complete reconstruction. One of the workers telling us, the reconstruction itself is necessary.

“It’s huge. It’s, it’s something that absolutely needs to be done, definitely better for the for the community, but, yeah, it’s, it’s something that absolutely need to be done,” said Keith Krumrei, a 49er Equipment Operator. “It’s important for safety precautions, and just neating up the highways and stuff.”

That being said, with it being the start of summer, the town is expecting some events and the construction workers are working around the clock to stay ahead.

“We got a deadline coming up,” said Krumrei. “These guys got to get it done soon. They got a event coming up, and they need to get it, get it done. And before the event comes, there’s expecting quite a few 1000 people to show up this year.”

Officials are encouraging Hoyt Lakes residents to reach out to the Contractor directly if you’d like any additional work done on your sidewalk.
