Friday Morning Northland Forecast: 6/13/2025
Cloudy, Cool, Windy & Wet Weekend
This weekend will not feel very summer-like. The average high for today is 72 degrees. We will have highs in the 50s today and Saturday, and in the low 60s on Sunday. We won’t get back to the 70s until Monday. Thanks to a strong low pressure system to our southwest, we are going to stay mainly cloudy, cool, windy and wet from today through Sunday. Look for cloudy skies all day today, with rain likely into the early afternoon. Winds off Lake Superior will be east 15-25mph all day, making it feel quite chilly if you’re anywhere near Duluth or Superior. It will feel a little better the further away you are from the Big Lake.
After our likely rain showers in the first half of today, we have chances for rain all weekend long, with about a 30% chance for rain on Saturday, and a 40% chance for rain on Sunday. That’s not all bad. We are down on precipitation for the month and the year, so I’m happy to see the rain. It’s not great that it’s on the weekend, but we’ll take what we can get. We also may see some fog Saturday morning, so it may delay mowing the lawn, until things dry out a little bit.
Next week looks better, as we head towards Grandma’s Marathon, next Saturday. We will back up in the 70s for highs, with more sunshine in the forecast. There is a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, but after that, it looks like the weather will cooperate as we get closer to next weekend, and welcome thousands of visitors to Duluth for the big weekend.
So, bundle up today, and look for nicer weather after we turn the corner into next week!
