Barno, Ondoro, Frisbie, & Popehn Headline Returners for 2025 Grandma’s Marathon
The half marathon kicks things off on Saturday at 5:50 AM.
DULUTH, Minn.- All eyes are on the elite runners at the Grandma’s Marathon.
And once again this year, there’s no shortage of big names that are looking to take the top prize.
We begin in the men’s full marathon as a couple of former champions will once again run.
Six-time champion Elisha Barno is vying for the three-peat this year after winning in 2023 and 2024.
He’ll try to hold off another former champion in Dominic Ondoro.
The Kenya native has previously won twice.
Speaking of champions, five-time men’s wheelchair winner Aaron Pike is also set to race this upcoming weekend.
Over on the women’s side, the duo that placed first and second last year in the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon are back.
Anna Frisbie will race against teammate and friend Dakotah Popehn.
Frisbie made her Grandma’s debut in 2024 as she finished with a event record time of 1:07:34.
Popehn was just behind her with a time of 1:08:03.
She has two titles herself as she won in 2021 and 2022.
The half marathon begins at 5:50 am on Saturday morning.
