Hortman family to Lie in State

MINNESOTA — Tuesday morning governor Tim Walz announced Melissa and Mark Hortman will Lie in State Friday, in Saint Paul.

They will be joined by their golden retriever, Gilbert.

They were assassinated in their home two weekends ago.

Hortman will be the first woman and one of fewer than 20 Minnesotans to Lie in State in the capitol.

The rotunda will be open for the public to pay their respects from noon to 5.

A private funeral will take place, Saturday.
