DULUTH, Minn. — Park State Bank presented the Duluth Salvation army with a $20,000 check.

The donation will go toward supporting the programs at Salvation Army.

Summer is the time of year they have the lowest donations, so this was good timing.

Park State Bank applied for a matching grant with Federal Home Loan Bank out of Des Moines.

The matching program helps fund local nonprofits.

“We’re just here to support the community in the best ways that we can. And we think that Salvation Army has done a fabulous job, and we’ve supported them for years.” said Bud Baker, Duluth and North Shore Market President for Park State Bank.

“If we didn’t have partners like Park State, we just couldn’t do this, and that’s just a truism, like if we didn’t have this money to help buy our food, or to have the staff that does our summer clinics right now, or to have some of our other staffing to do many of our other programs for housing. If we couldn’t pay them to have them to help folks in our community, they just we wouldn’t be doing it.” said Anthony Norton, Captain of Duluth Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army isn’t the only group that Park State has supported with this program.

They’ve made a number of significant donations across the area.
