New Cannabis Dispensary Coming to Downtown Duluth
DULUTH, Minn.– A new cannabis company is in the process of converting the old Gardner Hotel into a dispensary.
The building on Lake Avenue was built in 1893 and has been vacant for the past 20 years. Now a business venture is looking to bring the building back to life.
The dispensary, Duluth Cannabis Co., looks to prioritize delivery services and community engagement.
As for the rest of the building, there is plans to add apartments, a cannabis lounge and an event venue.
“Part of it is, you know, just sort of using this platform as a means to fix up an old, cool building downtown, right on the doorstep of our city,” Christopher Owen, Owner of Duluth Cannabis Co. said. “And then the second prong of our business model involves starting a cannabis dispensary, you know, and we’ve waited a long time in Minnesota for this.”
As the owner awaits permits and licenses, the building will undergo renovation and looks to open this fall.
