Esko Native Noah Furcht Lights Up Wade Stadium in First Season with Huskies
Furcht last suited up for Esko baseball back in 2021.
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies build a roster of college athletes from around the country to compete in the Northwoods league every summer.
This year, Esko Native Noah Furcht has been lighting up the field at Wade Stadium this season.
Furcht last suited up for Esko baseball back in 2021.
In his first season with the Huskies, Furcht has tallied 31 hits, 27 RBI’s and clubbed 3 home runs in 36 games with Duluth.
The Esko native recently committed to play baseball at Ohio State after playing the last two seasons at Charlotte.
For Furcht summer league baseball like the Huskies can bring opportunities to learn new baseball skills. While playing in front of the hometown fans.
“It’s just a different experience, different coaches, you get different ideas, bounce ideas off different people. So, it’s just like, getting to experience different things, broaden your spectrum of baseball and learning new things,” said Furcht. “Being able to play for the hometown team is a lot of fun and being with other guys from here. Playing against them and just knowing so many faces throughout that process has been really fun time.”
During his time with the Huskies, Furcht has learned how to attack more on offense.
“Coach Pointer he’s great at base running. He’s got so many ideas and ways to take bases you know. We’re aggressive on the base paths. He wants us to lead the league every year in stolen bases. So, definitely base running,” said Furcht.
Furcht and the Huskies are back in action at Wade Stadium against the Bismarck Larks on Thursday July 10th.
First pitch is at 6:35 p.m.
