Former Bulldog Ethan Cole Returns for Third Season with Huskies
The Duluth native first suited up for the Huskies back in the 2023 season.
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies add a familiar face to the roster for the second half of the season.
Former UMD Bulldog Ethan Cole returns for his third season with the Huskies.
The Duluth native first suited up for the Huskies back in the 2023 season.
In year three with Duluth, Cole has 7 hits and one home run in his first seven games.
The former Bulldog also has a batting average of .280.
Back in June, Cole entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility left.
Cole is set for the next step in his college career.
“I loved UMD for my four years, I graduated with a degree there and there’s no more grad school. So, my goal is to go for graduate school. Unfortunately, UMD doesn’t have that for me. If they did, I would stay. But I love the program it’s just, school and trying to do what I can to continue to play baseball,” said Cole. ” School comes first to me. I’m a student athlete that’s kind of the first thing that comes. Baseball, I obviously want to play at the highest level I want to and the highest level I can. So, there is a little bit of that as well.”
With this being Cole’s last season with the Huskies.
He is enjoying every moment playing for the team he has watched his whole life.
“I think it’s just because I’m local. I think it’s kind of the team I grew up watching and knowing. Coming to games when I was younger. I remember running around on the field when it was still a dirt field,” said Cole. “With baseball, I took this last season I wasn’t able to play. So not taking anything for granted and playing every game like it is my last. It’s a game that I love and have my entire life. So, just kind of taking it step by step, game by game and just loving the process.”
The Huskies are back in action on Friday, July 11th against the Bismarck Larks.
First pitch is at 6:35 p.m.
