11th Annual Bike Duluth Festival Begins

DULUTH, Minn.– Gears are turning at spirit mountain, because the 11th annual Bike Duluth Festival is about to take off.

The festival itself draws in cyclists of all skill levels.

Throughout the weekend, 9 different courses will take place, downhill, cross country, and chainless downhill just to name a few.

In addition, a handful of vendors will be available to check out, as well as a raffle to participate in.

Officials said, there is something for everyone at this event.

“We have activities for everybody, literally for little kids who are just starting out riding on strider bikes. We have that they can test out. And then we have pretty elite athletes here as well racing. You know, the really hard, advanced enduro is the downhills truly of any age,” said Carol Strand, 2025 Duluth Bike Festival Chair.

This competition plays a big role to benefit several nonprofits around Duluth.

This year they’re helping the Harbor Town Rotary, COGGS (Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee shores) and Duluth DEVO, a mountain biking club.

“You know, we put a lot of work into it throughout the year, and we get here, and it’s just a blast every year. Everyone’s so happy to be here, excited about their races. And so, it’s really fulfilling to be able to give back and contribute to some really growing nonprofits in Duluth who are really making an impact,” said Strand.

Since the festival got its start back in 2018, they have raised $450,000 towards a variety of nonprofits.

This year, they’re hoping to reach the half million mark.
