Minnesota Woman Turns Nature Passion into Kids’ Book Series

MINNESOTA — Jess DeWindt is turning her love for the outdoors into a children’s book series, Outdoor Kids, while also sharing her personal journey with infertility.

The six-book collection encourages families to unplug and explore nature, inspired by Jess and her husband Kirk’s dreams of one day adventuring with children of their own.

“We’ve struggled with infertility for a few years,” Jess said. “These books started as a way to imagine what it would be like to share our outdoor adventures with kids.”

The series is both educational and fun, with one standout title, Whose Poop Is That? “That’s been the hit so far,” said Kirk.

Outdoor Kids is available now on Amazon. Jess plans to keep writing—and sharing her story.

All proceeds will go toward funding IVF treatment.
