‘Duluth Whiskey Project’ Opens its Doors
DULUTH, Minn.– Lincoln Park is ‘uncorking’ its latest addition to the craft district today.
Nestled onto superior street near brewery neighbors, ‘Duluth Whiskey Project’ was undergoing construction since last August.
But this opportunity has been a dream for owner Kevin Evans for over a decade.
The building features seating for 124 guests at the bar, and taproom.
They’re offering a variety of handcrafted whiskeys, spirits, and vodkas, as well as non-alcoholic options
Evans is looking forward to being a part of the craft district community.
“I started making spirits without any vision for this place. And when we started thinking, okay, maybe we should have a cocktail room, we thought, what’s really needed down in the Lincoln Park area. And we thought, we don’t want to be too fancy. We don’t want to be unapproachable. We’ll keep the prices as low as we possibly can, and just a place for somebody to come in try our spirits, have a good time, relax,” said Evans.
Evans says that most of their ingredients are locally sourced.
Corn and wheat come from Esko, and malt and yeast from southern Minnesota.
They’re also excited for the community to try their food, with menu items such as wild rice meatballs, lobster rolls, and smoked gouda mac and cheese.
“We’re really going to let the people in the space define what’s going to be the most important thing. Here we are set up with some fantastic audio equipment to host live music, if that’s where we go, if this just becomes the place to go watch sports, so be it. But we’re going to listen to folks and really try to try to find a place that people want and just want to hang out,” said Evans.
“‘Duluth Whiskey Project’ plans to be open year-round and is anticipating fun times such as UMD Bulldog games, and Minnesota Vikings games as well.
