Tree Falls on Boy While Camping, Boy Uninjured

BUHL, Minn. — A child is unharmed after a tree fell on him during a camping trip on Sunday.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the Stubler Beach Campground in Buhl following a report of a 7-year-old child trapped beneath a tree.

Strong thunderstorms and high winds that swept through the area early that morning.

The winds caused a nearby tree to fall directly onto their tent, pinning the boy beneath it.

Family members were able to free the boy before emergency responders arrived.

After evaluating the boy, they found he was uninjured and did not need transportation to the hospital.

Authorities remind campers and outdoor enthusiast that severe weather can develop rapidly and without much warning.
