‘Dare to Go Bear’ Golf Scramble Returns to Support Lake Superior Zoo

CARLTON, Minn.– For the second year, golfers sank their claws and clubs on the green for the ‘Dare to Go Bear’ golf scramble.

23 different teams played today at the Black Bear Casino and Resort to support the Lake Superior Zoo.

Golfers got to sink their claws into a competitive game of golf, as well as a silent auction.

This year, the zoo will be using proceeds to help out with the recent ‘sea-quest’ rescue.

It will help with modifications, animal care, and exhibit adjustments for the newly rescued 200 animals.

No matter the reason, zoo staff says, it’s a great feeling when the community shows up for this nonprofit.

“I would say also that I think that the community and the businesses we partner with the people that we see at the zoo, I think everybody has noticed a really big positive swing in energy at the zoo, which is, of course, 103 years old. So, there’s a lot behind that, and a lot of people who have kept things going and done a really wonderful job. Having people come and support this new energy and the team that we have at the zoo is really an incredible feeling,” said Caroline Routley, Marketing Manager, Lake Superior Zoo.

The Lake Superior Zoo is gearing up for some other big events in the future.

Boo at the Zoo will be returning around Halloween, and in November, they will be hosting a holiday silent auction.
