Boys Soccer: Hermantown Defends Home Turf, Duluth Denfeld Falls in Season Opener

The Hermantown and Duluth Denfeld boys soccer teams opened up their 2025 season on Friday.

DULUTH, Minn.- The Hermantown and Duluth Denfeld boys soccer teams opened up their 2025 season on Friday.

The Hawks welcomed in Mesabi East Area.

Hermantown defends their home field, defeating the Giants 3 to 0.

The Hawks are back in action on Saturday, August 23rd, against Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

Game time is at 2 p.m.

For the Giants, their next game is on Wednesday, August 27th, against Cloquet/Esko/Carlton.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Back in Duluth, the Hunters held their home opener against Mahtomedi.

Not the result the Hunter were looking for, as they fell 6 to 3 against the Zephyrs.

Duluth Denfeld will have an opportunity to bounce back on Saturday, August 23rd, as the Hunters host Hill-Murray.

Game time is at noon.
