Prep Soccer: C-E-C Boys Victorious in Home Opener, Esko Girls Begin Season 1-0

Esko will host their home opener on Monday, August 25th, against East Grand Forks.

CLOQUET, Minn.- The Cloquet/Esko/Carlton boys soccer team hosted their home opener on Saturday against Columbia Heights.

It was a defensive battle in the first half between the Lumberjacks and the Hylanders, ending the first half tied 0-0.

In the second half, the Lumberjacks scored late to secure the 1-0 win over Columbia Heights.

Scoring the lone goal for the Lumberjacks was sophomore Jordan Sewell.

The Lumberjacks are back in action on Tuesday, August 26th, against Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

Kickoff is at 5 p.m.

In prep girls soccer, the Proctor Rails hosted Esko on Saturday.

Esko dominated the game, defeating the Rails 6-0, earning their first win of the season.

Esko will host their home opener on Monday, August 25th, against East Grand Forks.

Game time is at 7 p.m.

For the Rails, they’re back in action on Monday, August 25th, against Hibbing/Chisholm.

Game time is at 6:30 p.m.
