Stella Maris Academy releases statement following Annunciation Catholic School shooting
DULUTH, Min. – The Cathodic School in Duluth, Stella Maris Academy, released a statement following the deadly shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.
Our hearts are broken as we hold our brothers and sisters at Annunciation Catholic School and Parish in Minneapolis close in prayer after today’s tragic events.
Catholic schools are so much more than classrooms. They are places where children are deeply loved, where families are rooted in community, and where we gather at the Eucharist as one Body in Christ. To see such sacred spaces struck by violence is beyond heartbreaking.
We lift up prayers for healing for the injured, comfort for grieving families, courage for students and staff, and strength for the entire Annunciation community in the difficult days ahead. May God’s mercy surround them, and may His love bring peace in the midst of unimaginable sorrow.
Today, the strength of our relationship with emergency personnel was affirmed with its immediate outreach from our local partners in the Duluth Police Department.
We invite you to unite your prayers with ours, asking our Blessed Mother to hold the Annunciation community close.
