Armed Man Arrested After Threatening People

HIBBING, Minn. – Yesterday morning, in Hibbing, an armed man was arrested after threatening to shoot others and himself.

The Hibbing Police Department was dispatched to the 2200 block of 4th Ave West, where law enforcement spotted the man in a backyard with a shotgun. The police set a perimeter around the area and proceeded to negotiate with the man to get him to put down the firearm.

After having no success with negotiations, officers deployed less lethal munitions and took the man into custody. He was transported to Fairiew Range Medical Center for evaluation.
