Love Creamery Hosts Open House For Billings Park

SUPERIOR, Wis. — Over in Billings Park in Superior, local residents were offered a sweet treat on the house, courtesy of their newest neighbors.

Love Creamery, the ice cream shoppe with two locations in Duluth, will be expanding into Superior shortly, and held an open house for Billings Park locals to introduce themselves, and their product, to the community.

“I really like what they’re doing with getting involved in the community, I really appreciate stuff like this,” said Wyatt Tischler, a UW-Superior student and longtime Billings Park resident. “I think it really builds up support for a business like this, so it’s super cool to see.”

Even though the business’s current locations are on the other side of the bridge, the Superior connection runs deep.

“This is a homecoming, Love Creamery was born in superior in our small business center. We helped incubate this building, and now I’m really excited to be able to use our Small Business Grant program to bring this business home to make ice cream in Superior, but more importantly, in this neighborhood,” said Superior Mayor Jim Paine. “I grew up in Billings Park, and it’s great to grow up in a place where you can walk to fun places to go and find fun things to do.”

The addition of the ice cream shoppe is just another way Superior is continuing to spread the love to its citizens.

“A bunch of folks walked here (today), and they get to have fun in their neighborhood, and as you can tell, it’s absolutely packed here, and I don’t think they hardly advertised this at all,” said Paine. “People are really excited to have fun things in their neighborhoods.”

“It’s great to have a vibrant downtown in Superior, but even better to have vibrant neighborhoods.”

For the locals in the neighborhood, it’s nice to have a new spot to hang out and enjoy some good food.

“I know a couple of my friends live in Billings Park and right up the street, so they’re also really looking forward to it,” said Tischler.

“We’ll be taking our weekly trips up here, for sure, to get some ice cream.”

It won’t be long until the local residents can enjoy the ice cream on the regular either, as the business is looking to open up in November.
