2 Men Arrested After Saturday Shooting in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. — Two men were arrested this weekend after an altercation that lead to a shooting in Duluth Saturday.
The report of the shooting happened at 8 p.m. Saturday in the area of South 72nd Avenue West, which is near the Lake Superior Zoo.
A 29-year-old man and his brother, a 22-year-old man, got into a physical altercation with a 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, according to officials.
At one point during that altercation, a firearm was discharged by the 29-year-old man, according to police, before both brothers then fled the scene.
Officers later initiated a traffic stop on I-35, and a firearm was seized from the shooting suspect, who claimed ownership of the firearm, according to police.
The brothers were arrested without incident on pending charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
“The individuals involved were all known to each other and this incident remains an active and ongoing investigation,” according to a news release Sunday night.
