UW-Superior’s Semi-Annual “Jacket Fest” Helps Students Connect
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s semi-annual “Jacket Fest” student event took place on campus again this Fall.
The event is a regular at the college, with potential employers gathering to speak to students about a future outside of school. The school is welcoming in its highest volume of first-year students in the last three years, so events like these are important for the college to set their new recruits on the right track.
“We have internal departments that help students get on-campus positions and also offer resources for students as well, and then we have outside partners and employers who are filling part time positions and also sharing their resources in the community that students can tap into,” said Thora Papineau, an outreach program manager at the school’s Link Center.
The event saw just under 60 student organizations, and dozens and dozens of potential employers.
