According to the court documents, the suspects say that one of them had been to the home days prior, broken down the door, taken pictures, and left.
They then returned together, which is when the three guns and ammunition were stolen.
In the charging papers, the suspects say they played “golf” in the barn, which is what authorities believe contributed to the damage on the property.
Authorities were able to review footage from one of three trail cameras on the property to identify Coon and Pappas, who had stolen the other two.
According to authorities, they were able to track down the red truck that the suspects had been spotted in, and were subsequently taken in for questioning.
The missing trail cameras, along with ammunition matching what was stolen, were found in the truck. In addition, photos of the stolen weapons were found on Pappas’ Snapchat.
This is an active case. They are scheduled to appear in court on October 14. Check back for updates.
