The Force on Fifth: New Extended Stay Housing in Downtown
DULUTH, Minn. — After a few setbacks the Ordean Building finally has some occupants.
The Force on Fifth held its ribbon cutting ceremony today, celebrating their opening as an ‘extended stay corporate housing project’.
Originally, it was going to continue being a nonprofit office center.
But between a flood damaging the heating system and Covid19’s impact, plans had to change, and bringing more housing downtown made sense.
“What we’re finding in the apartment market right now is, you know, traditionally, people are used to one-year leases, and folks after post- covid. What we’re finding is that doesn’t work for people anymore. We’re more transient, and we want to experience different locations. Because, quite frankly, we can, we can work remotely now where we couldn’t before. And so, what we’re seeing – demand on is really a six-month rental or below.” said Brian Forcier, President and CEO of Titanium Partners.
The building features 30 extended stay suites for people between longer term housing, business travelers, and other extended stay guests.
The modern suites feature fully equipped kitchenettes and premium amenities.
