Duluth Preservation Alliance Presents Historic Properties Tour
DULUTH, Minn. – The Duluth Preservation Alliance putting on its annual historic properties tour today.
The long-standing annual event focuses on opening up historic buildings, residential and commercial, to the public for a chance to learn about some of Duluth’s rich history. Every year, the location and theme change, allowing for every area of Duluth to be showcased.
This year, the DPA chose “West Side Story” as its theme to highlight historic properties in the West Duluth area.
“You know, we drive by places as we’re going to work or running errands, and you never really know what’s inside,” said Lori Melton, president of the Duluth Preservation Alliance. “Take, for example, the Alhambra behind me, like you would drive by and think, Okay, another business. And then you go in and it’s absolutely magical.”
The tour included six historical sites in total for people to walk through and learn about.
