Duluth Folk School Fundraising for Class Renovations
DULUTH, Minn. – The Duluth Folk School is currently fundraising to help renovate the back side of the building into more classrooms and workshops.
The school has been offering classes since 2016, and the surrounding community has grown over the years. There is currently one classroom available, located on the second floor, making it less accessible. Their main goal is to renovate the back of the building, creating more classroom space, a workshop, and first-floor accessibility.
“The classroom that we use upstairs only holds about 12 people comfortably, and so when we are doing bigger projects or Messier projects or projects that require big tools, it’s really hard to use that space,” said Carmel Demaioribus, co-owner of Duluth Folk School.
The Duluth Folk School says they have reached their first fundraising goal and are continuing for roughly four more weeks to help reach their stretch goal.
