Hawk Ridge Fall Migration

DULUTH, Minn. — Bird enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are invited to join a special fall migration event at Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory in Duluth.

The final event in this year’s “Everyone Can Bird” series takes place Saturday, October 11th, from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. October is peak migration season for raptors like bald and golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, and American goshawks.

Participants can take part in guided activities, including the educational “Migration Challenge” at 10:15 a.m., and the regularly scheduled “Eyes on the Skies” program at 11 a.m. The event is accessible to people of all abilities, with binoculars, spotting scopes, portable seating, and a track chair available for use. American Sign Language interpretation will also be provided.

Light refreshments will be served, and a wheelchair-accessible portable bathroom will be on-site. Free bus transportation is available from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Lakeview Covenant Church, with registration encouraged to reserve a spot.
