Superior Residents Discuss Impacts of State Budget on School Funding
SUPERIOR, Wiss. – Representative Angela Stroud holds a town hall meeting at the Superior Public Library regarding the Wisconsin state budget on school funding.
Under the state’s new budget, the Superior School District is projecting a loss of $1.8 million in state general aid. This will increase local property taxes to help offset the decrease in district funding. Stroud spoke about how this was a key reason she voted no on the state budget.
“It’s something that I think is not well understood and certainly not well advertised in terms of how school funding operates, what is broken about it, and then what that means for us,” said Rep. Angela Stroud,
(D) Ashland.
The meeting allows locals the opportunity for open discussion on ways to support public schools.
