Search for missing man underway in Cook County

COOK COUNTY, Minn. — A search is underway for a missing man in Cook County.

Authorities say Wayne Stortch, a 74-year-old man from New Richmond, has been missing since September 18.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office discovered Stortch’s vehicle parked on the side of the Gunflint Trail at the Pine Mountain Lake trailhead access on September 24.

Officials believe he is somewhere in the vicinity of Pine Mountain Lake.
