Congdon Park neighborhood under boil alert

Boil Water Advisory (AP Generic)

DULUTH, Minn. — A boil water notice is in effect for residents in the Congdon Park neighborhood.

The boil alert is in place for those living on the 3300 to 3800 blocks of Greysolon Road, Greysolon Place, East Superior Street, and 36th Avenue East from London Road to Superior Street.

Officials say during a hydrant replacement on London Road, a part of the piping was drained unintentionally, leading to the alert out of precaution.

Those under the alert should bring all drinking/cooking water to a full, rolling boil, let it boil for one minute or longer, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.

Officials say boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

City officials are performing tests to check the safety of the water for drinking. The results are expected to come this weekend.
