Cirrus Aircraft Up For “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota”

DULUTH, Minn. — An aircraft made by Cirrus Aircraft is in the running for the title of “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota.”

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and BMO have announced the four finalists in the contest for “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota.”

The SR Series G7+ Aircraft by Cirrus made the list.

The aircraft features a Garmin flight deck and emergency auto-land, the Safe Return feature allows anyone in the airplane to land it in an emergency with the push of a button.

Cirrus says it is proud to represent the northland and especially the Duluth community.

“Our whole team really feels a lot of pride with what we build and the lives we’ve saved with the Cirrus airframe parachute, and the good that we’ve been able to do in the in the world by using general aviation. And it’s really, it’s very special that it comes from Duluth, Minnesota,” Ivy McIver, Cirrus SR Product Line Executive Director said.

You have until Saturday to vote for any of the four finalists online.

The winner of the contest will be announced at the 2025 Manufacturers’ Summit next week.
